Should Giants Revamp Their Offense by Trading Away Top Prospect for AL All-Star?

Thu, 2025-06-05 19:00

No team has had more success with their pitching staff than the San Francisco Giants. At 35-28, the Giants are trending towards buying at the deadline coming off a series split against the San Diego Padres. If San Francisco were to make a big move, it would likely be for a bat to complement the already complete pitching staff.

Kurtenbach: Buster Posey successfully navigated SF Giants through his first real crisis in the most ironic way

Thu, 2025-06-05 15:45

The Giants needed a shakeup. First-year president of baseball operations Buster Posey tried patience and positive reinforcement, but as the Giants' offensive struggles reached their third week unabated, it was undeniable that San Francisco's clubhouse had become just a bit too comfortable with not scoring runs. Posey might have successfully navigated his first real crisis as the Giants' man in charge, but he did it in a way that, dare I say, was downright Farhan Zaidi-like?

Insider Views Giants Breakout Star As Possible Trade Chip if They Sell

Thu, 2025-06-05 14:00

With one of the best records in the National League, adding some pieces to this roster seemed like something Buster Posey would do. Because of that, there's a chance San Francisco could actually sell off some pieces instead of adding. While it would likely take things to go extremely wrong for that to happen, if the Giants don't believe this group can win a World Series championship, then they would be better suited to not ship out assets and get something back in return for their upcoming free agents. If that's the decision they do make, then Jeff Passan of ESPN thinks breakout star Wilmer Flores could be their best trade chip.

Which Giants Players Received Superlatives After Roller Coaster May?

Thu, 2025-06-05 08:00

The month of May wasn't the greatest for the San Francisco Giants, who went 14-16 after a strong 19-12 start to the season. If there is any positive to take away from the team's overall performance, it is that the needs for the Giants to remain in the playoff picture are clear. At the very least, San Francisco can rest easy knowing that it already possesses the pitching depth to compete with any team in the league. There were several standout performers on the mound for the Giants over the last month, and one hitter who stepped his game up with his teammates failing to rise to the occasion.
